going with the random one today.
I recently saw my OBGYN for my yearly visit. Which, honestly, was hard to adjust to after having kids! We had our kids all close in age and I was used to seeing her so often! Now, it feels like forever since I've seen her. One super cool side note...at the time of the delivery of our baby number 7 we held the record for "most deliveries to one family". Other patients had more children than us...but they couldn't say that my doctor had delivered them all. I haven't asked her if she's delivered more than 7 children to one family since then, thought. :)
While she was doing her OBGYN thing she made a comment that almost made me giggle right there on the spot...oh, that could have probably gotten SUPER awkward.
ANYWAYS. She said to me “for having seven children your cervix is very high. It’s actually quite amazing.”
I don't know if I responded out loud...AND definitely held in a giggle. In my head I'm like "gee, thanks?"
It's nothing I've been told before. PROBABLY nothing I'll ever be told again by anyone else, either.
Then it got me wondering...do OBGYNs sit down and talk about experiences with patients?
Like would my doctor say to her doctor friends- "Woah! YOU should have seen the cervix I had today, it was super high! She delivered 7 children and the placement was amazing!"?
Of course, they won't share names with each other...but they HAVE to share stories, right? I mean I'm positive they have all experienced some wild delivery stories...they must share them to some extent? So, then why not share the stories about the body parts that got them there? Who knows. I'll most likely never know...unless someone reading this IS an OBGYN, then you can confirm or deny that this sort of thing takes place.
so, yeah. that's really it for today. a super random post...and really, I suppose a real post, too. You know something SUPER personal about me that you could have done without knowing. BUT what an amazing God we serve that created women's bodies to carry and deliver babies. I am so thankful He created me to be a mother. I know that there are plenty of women out there that don't get the experience of carrying and delivering babies, know that I pray for you. Always.
