Then I went to prepare a message about beauty from ashes and I saw the Bible says not beauty FROM ashes, but beauty FOR ashes. I saw that the Bible says NOTHING about beauty FROM ashes, but beauty FOR ashes.
Take a look at the verse in Isaiah--Isaiah 61:3…to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes…
You see it, right? beauty INSTEAD OF ashes. The beauty isn't come "from" them, but you're exchanging the ashes "for" beauty. God isn't in the business of improving, but creating NEW. He replaces our ashes of hurt, sorry, pain and all the things with NEW. Just like he creates us new when we come to him.
2 Corinthians 5:17--Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away and see, the new has come.
God has taken your ashes and turned all of the ugly into beauty.
He has turned something old into something new.
He has replaced our old selves and made us a new self.
He’s taken all the things.
He also wants all the things that you’re hanging onto.
I urge you to lay them at the foot of the cross.
The foot of the cross where He died for you.
Leave the things there.
then
Walk away lighter.
Walk away filled with the reminders He has for you.
Walk away knowing He has taken your ashes and exchanged them for a crown of BEAUTY!
